Thrift Store Donations

Thank you for donating to Summit Thrift and Treasure. Revenue from the store supports 35% of FIRC’s program funding. These emergency assistance and parenting programs would not be possible without the support of your donations.  Thank you.

Hours for Donations:
Monday, Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. -6:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Sorry we cannot accept donations outside of these hours. If you cannot make it during these hours, please call to schedule a drop off 970-262-2461.

January Remodel: The store will be OPEN during the month of January for remodel, please excuse our dust. Donation hours will remain the same. 

Drop off location: Please use the blue door on the side of the building facing Colorado Mountain College for donation drop offs. Summit Thrift & Treasure 340 Fiedler Ave. Dillon, Co 80435.

Items Accepted:
New or Gently Used Condition - If you would give the item to a relative or friend, then the item is most likely in good condition.

Please try to separate donations in with like items. This will make sorting donations much easier for our volunteers. If you have any questions about if an item is accepted, please call the store 970-262-2461.

Our apologies, we are not able to accept the following because of space limitations at our store. We have also had issues with people wanting to return electronics that don’t work and we are restricted by child safety laws for certain itmes.

FIRC recommends posting items that cannot be donated on Craigslist under the free section http://rockies.craigslist.org/zip/ in hopes that it can still be used by someone in need. We also recommend contacting Habitat for Humanity’s Restore in Breckenridge at 970-367-5127, open Thursday-Saturday 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. for furniture donations.

Tax Deductable:
Since Summit Thrift and Treasure is a nonprofit 501(c)3 store owned by FIRC, Items donated are tax deductable. Tax receipts are available at the drop off. FIRC recommends using the Goodwill Donation Guide for valuing donation items.

Volunteering at Summit Thrift &Treasure

Volunteers are essential to Summit Thrift & Treasure’s success. The revenue from the store is used to support FIRC’s emergency assistance and parenting education programs, so we work very hard to keep costs low. As a result, we rely on a very small paid staff and volunteers to organize the store and sort donations.

How to Volunteer:
Volunteers are welcome at Summit Thrift & Treasure an hour before we open and during our operating hours. Volunteers can stay anywhere from one hour to six hours. If you are available, please call ahead to notify the staff at 970-262-2461.

Work in the thrift store is very hands on, so please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

STT Volunteer Club
Volunteers who join the STT Club and volunteer 10 or more hours a month qualify for STT benefits including $40 of STT Club Bucks to use at the store or to donate to their favorite FIRC program, First Dibs and Thank You Thursday.

Reasons to volunteer at Summit Thrift & Treasure:

• It is the biggest volunteer need at FIRC
• Volunteers are key to the store’s success
• You will have the first chance at buying donated items
• All staff members are bilingual in English and fluent in Spanish so it’s a great opportunity to practice a second language.
• The staff at the store are a wonderful group who enjoy making work fun.
• The schedule is very flexible, even if you can just help for an hour it makes a difference
• You will stay busy and see your accomplishments
• Volunteer hours count for community service

What's New
The remodel features more dressing rooms, larger brand names section, a shoe section, faster checkout, better organization, improved donation area with extended donation hours and improved work area for staff and volunteers.
