FIRC Fashion Show Fundraiser
June 27, 2014, Riverwalk Center, Breckenridge

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO MADE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS.

Photos from the evening.

The third annual FIRC Fashion Show raised over $76,000 for our parenting education and emergency assistance programs.  Three hundred guests attended the fundraiser on June 27 at the Riverwalk Center featuring a runway fashion show, live music and dinner by Food Hedz.

The theme for the evening was “Night at the Movies” showcasing more than 60 local volunteers who donated their time to walk the runway in iconic movie outfits from FIRC’s owned and operated thrift stores, Summit Thrift & Treasure. Runway sets included Pretty Woman, Titanic, Pulp Fiction and a Dirty Dancing finale. Andrea Dixon of Big City Blues and Ashley Kujawski managed the looks for the models and hair and make-up was donated by First Impressions, Roots, New Concept, Majestic Mountain Beauty and Salon 424, Stacy Roberts and Facepainting by Maria.

“It was amazing to see how closely the outfits and hair matched the movies,” said Anita Overmyer, development director of the FIRC. “This is such a unique fundraiser. It’s such a fun event to have guests dress up in the theme and watch the volunteers transform into runway models, FIRC is so fortunate to have such amazing support from everyone around the community.”

Sponsorship by High Country Healthcare, Summit County Government, Breckenridge Grand Vacations and Vail Resorts Echo composed a significant portion of the event’s financial success, including an additional $10,000 match at the event by Breckenridge Grand Vacations and Mike Millisor. Money raised at the event will help with the finishing expenses of the new FIRC office and food bank in Silverthorne and the new programs focused on assisting parents with school-aged children and nutrition and exercise classes for the community.

“This is my third year doing this and I absolutely love it,” said Andrea Dixon, the stylist for the show and owner of Big City Blues. “I feel like this year, the outfits were perfect and the models took things to a new level. In working with the models, I’m always so impressed that so many people are willing to donate their time to help a nonprofit that does so much for our community.”

This is FIRC’s largest fundraiser and it plays a significant role in the ability to expand programs to meet the changing needs of Summit County.

“Thank you to all of the sponsors, guests and volunteers who made this event possible,” said Tamara Drangstveit. “This fundraiser has made our new offices and new programs possible and it will continue to play a major funding role in helping families become more stable.”
