FIRC Programs

The Family & Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) is a non-profit organization that aims to enhance the quality of life in Summit County by providing information, assistance and education to families, immigrants and refugees. The FIRC fosters collaboration among community agencies and businesses and advocates for family and cultural competence.

The FIRC has three program areas to fulfill its mission. Through those programs, the agency provides information, referral, home visitation and education for local families, immigrants and refugees and advocates for community integration:

Family Suport Services
  • Free one-time home visit for new parents of children ages birth to 3
  • Free monthly home visits to parents of children ages birth to 5
  • Personalized Child Development Plans
  • Multilingual Parent Educators
  • Referrals
Education & Outreach
  • Spanish Language Support Groups
  • Parenting Classes
  • Family Activities

The program consists of monthly home visits based on the Parents As Teachers curriculum by a parent educator knowledgeable in child development and current research concerning families and children. In addition, a pre- and post-natal visit based on the Bright Beginnings program is available to all new moms.

SUMMIT THRIFT & TREASURE
STT offers a variety of services and opportunities to the community, including:

  • Brand names at low prices
  • Recycling services for clothes & household items
  • Employment, Volunteer, and Social Opportunities
  • A Welcome Center that provides multilingual resources

Donations are accepted 10am - 2 pm, Monday - Saturday ONLY
