FIRC offers a variety of resources and support for parents with children ages 0-18. Our staff empowers parents to provide a safe and nurturing environment during the most critical years of development, which results in school readiness, emotional well-being and lifelong success.

The Parent Engagement program provides parents with school-aged children with the education and support to improve communication, address issues and help your child become a successful adult.

Multi-Week Parenting Class for parents with children ages 5-12

  • Offered for parents with children ages 5-12
  • Allows parents to share concerns and solutions with other parents
  • Six-week class which uses the Active Parenting curriculum
  • Learn how to teach respect and independence
  • Discuss ways to defuse power struggles and use positive discipline

Dialogue Over Dinner

  • Connects parents with experts on a variety of topics affecting adolescents
  • Allows parents to share concerns and solutions with other parents
  • Offered during the school year
  • Topics include: Talking to your teen about marijuana, suicide and mental health, homework strategies and cyber safety

  • Partnership with Summit School District which provides home visits from a school administrator and monthly classes for parents
